School holidays and supported countries
How your calendar automatically loads public holidays and school breaks based on the country, zone, or subdivision you select in settings.
Which zones and countries are supported?
In France, school holiday dates vary by education authority. The app supports zones A, B, C, as well as Corsica and overseas departments (Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique, Mayotte, Réunion). Select your zone in the settings so holidays are shown automatically.
The calendar fetches official dates published by the national education ministry. You don't need to enter anything manually. Public holidays are also supported for Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Quebec.
School level matters
Select your child's level (nursery, primary, middle or high school). In nursery and primary, Wednesday is treated as a school-free day, which changes how custody days are calculated.
Alternation during holidays
When school holidays arrive, the calendar pauses the usual pattern (alternating weeks, etc.) and applies the holiday rule you chose.
You can choose which parent takes the first or second half of each holiday period, and reverse this rule for even or odd years.
Summer Holidays (July–August)
Four modes are available in Settings for the summer period:
Even and odd years: the calendar uses the year when the long summer holidays begin (even or odd). With “Vacation alternation (Parent A)” (the two buttons just above), you choose whether Parent A takes the first or second part in even years; in odd years it is automatically the opposite. This applies to every mode below, including exact midpoint (first or second half of the summer).
- Full month — One parent has all of July, the other all of August; who gets which month follows even/odd years and “Vacation alternation”.
- Calendar fortnights — Blocks run from the 1st to the 15th, then from the 16th to the end of the month. Four alternating blocks over both months.
- Strict fortnights — Alternation every 15 days starting from the first day of your zone's summer holidays.
- Exact midpoint — Summer is split exactly in half. If the split falls during the night, the app moves it to the time you configured for parents' celebration days.
Public holidays and bridge days
The calendar also detects public holidays. When a public holiday falls next to a Wednesday (for example Ascension), all these school-free days are grouped together and the parent changeover happens at the end of the last school day.
